Blue Stone Drive Home
The Brief
Christchurch firm Monk Architecture were appointed to design this two story, four bedroom home located in Waitkiri, Christchurch. The brief was to design a home which with was space-efficient, enjoyed some nice traditional detailing and also delivered plenty of outdoor views, living and garden spaces.
Project Challenges
This project needed to comply with strict subdivision covenants for design and finishes.The home features a tall two storey gable wall which required an efficient and reinforced structural design and build methodology. Keystone Construction enjoyed delivering the finishing detailing specified for this build by Monk Architecture. The entrance features a large open atrium which immediately creates a 'wow' factor. A number of rooms feature ornate recessed ceilings and specialist joinery. The exterior wall of the stairwell is clad entirely in cedar.
Result
The construction timeline for this build was six months and the project was delivered on budget. This is a modern home, built to a high standard and married with some beautiful traditional features and finishes. Monk Architecture were involved in all aspects of design including the kitchen and interior joinery which created a seamless overall design. Keystone Construction delivered on all construction and detailing specifications and requirements.
